Dr. Richter graduated with honors from LIU CW POST in 1984 where he received a Bachelors of Science in Biology. 

He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine in 1988.

Has completed certifications in Enteral conscious sedation, Laser certification in the use of Neodinium YAG lasers, Holmium YAG Lasers and Erbium Chromium lasers in dental care.

He has been in private practice since 1989. Dr. Richter currently has two private practices in both East Patchogue and East Quogue. The practices go under the names, “Patchogue Family Dental, PC” and “Hampton Family Dental, PC “

He has been published in Dental Products Report.

Helped provide vital research data and input into the development of one of the leading digital x-ray imaging systems today.

Dr. Richter has been a “laser dentist” for over 14 years, and lectures on the subject of laser dentistry to doctors interested in entering this exciting field of dentistry.

Dr. Richter gives community lectures annually on Oral Cancer and believes educating the public about the benefits of dentistry is the best motivator for reaching the 50% of the population which does not seek dental care.

His hobbies and interests are: chess, science fiction, baseball, ice hockey, skeet shooting, motorcycling, Martial Arts, playing X-Box with his boys, and photography. 

He is the proud father of 6 children ; Brittany, Alexandra, Courtney, Jacqueline, Wyatt, and Garrett. He has been married to his very lovely wife Lorraine for twenty three years. 

Dr. Richter has always enjoyed teaching. While in college he enjoyed tutoring Biology and Organic Chemistry. As a new instructor for POS, a long standing dream of teaching has been fulfilled.
